Working as a podiatry in the UK presents several opportunities both professional and social. You’re able to enhance your career working across the National Health Service (NHS) or in private practice. Also, the UK, the whole of Europe and North Africa are at your feet to go on adventures on your time off.
Before you leave the country, RSG Australia will assist you in getting all the necessary documents, in order to ensure a smooth transfer into the UK workforce and into your new podiatrist role.
Requirements to work in the UK:
• Registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC) is essential to work as a podiatrist in the UK.
• 12 months clinical experience
• Visa — Most Australians will need to have a visa in their passport in order to work in the UK. There are several types of visas including a Youth Mobility Visa, which allows you to work for 2 years, and an ancestry visa which provides a 5 year work visa if you have a grandparent born in the UK. • Positions — RSG Australia has strong relationships with NHS preferred suppliers so we have a wide range of opportunities available to work in different specialities of physiotherapy.
• Where? The NHS is throughout the UK so there is the possibility to work anywhere in the UK from John O’ Groats to Land’s End.
Health Professionals Council Registration in the UK
To register with the HPC can take more than 16 weeks from their receipt of your application, so you’re advised to apply for HPC registration early.
